Lucky for Jeff (or maybe me) she wasn't born when there was a home football game. Instead we were able to watch the game on TV in the hospital!

1/2 Marathon

On our way down to the big race we got to stop and see great grandma for a little while. The kids always love seeing and playing at grandmas.

My big accomplishment for the year is last month I ran the Hurricane 1/2. Except for one monster hill it was a fun race. All I can say is that I finished and actually felt pretty good. Krystal, Marci, Susan, and Megan also ran it.

After the race we got to all relax by the pool for the rest of the afternoon. The only picture I have of the pool is Lily and Isabelle enjoying a little snack. We were all too busy soaking up the sun!

Itty Bitty Lacrosse

We put Jack in Itty Bitty Lacrosse. It was fun seeing them trying to figure out how to use their Lacrosse sticks. I tried to help Jack but since I didn't know what I was doing I was little to no help. They loved running around and figuring it out.

March Happenings

March was busy for us we started the month out by going to the Model Train Show, which is the highlight of the year for Jack. We went 2 days in a row, which is about all I could handle. It only comes once a year and Jack has been asking when he can go back. Sadly, he has a long year of waiting.

We went to the Aquarium to see the new penguin's and Isabelle is getting pretty brave trying to touch the Stingrays. We went to Disney on Ice (courtesy of Brooke). The kids loved the show! Jack just didn't want to see Mickey or Minnie up close. He was a little nervous and wouldn't eat until we went into the show and saw them on the ice. He then knew he was in the clear. We celebrated Isabelle's 2nd birthday, Jeff, Greg, and John's birthdays and my dad's retirement! It was a busy month with lots of parties. Isabelle enjoying her birthday cake. and her new rideanother bday partyJack and Isabelle coloring Easter eggs and frosting cookies. Taking Jeff's baby out for her maiden voyage. It was a little chilly! Now if it would only get warm so we can go skiing.

Jack is making good progress for his first season of skiing. He has ditched the magic carpet in favor of the chair lift. He keeps telling me he wants to go on the bigger hill (Apparently, he is already finished with the bunny hill)...I am still always getting in his way!

Over the weekend we took Jack up skiing for the first time. He loved every minute of it. He would go down the bunny hill just laughing. He kept telling me, "mom get out of the way it is dangerous with you in front of me". Little did he know how dangerous it could be without anyone blocking his way.

Vegas Baby!

This weekend Jeff, Greg, Susan and I went to Vegas for the U2 concert. Really, what can I say about the concert? It was Magnificent! The Black Eyed Peas got it started for U2. All-in-all, it was a great concert.

The day after the concert Susan and I went to go to the pool and the spa at Ceasars while the boys watched football games all day long. I am sure this was their whole plan so we wouldn't bug them while they sat for 6 hours to watch football. The U won so they were on cloud 9. Afterwards we ate some great food and got a frozen hot chocolate from Serendipity. If you haven't ever gone to Serendipity you need to, it is so good. In fact, it was so good we had to go back for brunch the next day!

Jeff fixed our computer...hallelujah!!

After a long drawn out battle with HP, we won't get started on that, Jeff completely rebuilt our computer (much to my surprise it works and I am quite impressed). Jeff can now add to his resume computer builder. Watch out HP.

Dead Computer=Lack of Pictures

So my computer died a few weeks ago and is still dead so I haven't been able to update my blog. So I will give a little update on what we have been doing the last few weeks.

My cute little nephew Noah came out for the weekend and we where able to spend some time with him and Paul. (Summer and Alex we missed seeing you)

Jack turned 4!! I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like he had a week long party between my family's party, preschool, his actual birthday, my in-laws taking him to the circus, and his birthday party. It was a busy week. He is already wondering when it will be his birthday again.

Once I get my computer fixed I will update with much needed pictures!

My friend Molly took some pictures of my kids last week and put a few up on her website you can check them out here. I haven't had their pictures taken for so long and Molly did such a great job. Although, Jack just sat there a posed every second so I am sure their are a billion pictures of him while Isabelle did not want to cooperate at all. Luckily, Molly was able to get some cute pictures and I can't wait to see the rest.

Day 1

Today was Jack's first day of preschool and I am happy to say that he survived, at least he was awake when I picked him up.

His little friend came over before school to play and all they could talk about was going to school...He has been so excited to go to school! I thought maybe he would be a little nervous going to school but as I pulled up he jumped out of the car and headed in and that was that. (His preschool has a drive up and load deal, which is very nice)

I was going to get a picture of them both before school but this is the only picture I managed to get of Jack before my camera died.

I am not sure what his hands were doing. I told him to say cheese and he held up his hands and said preschool.

Meanwhile while Jack was at school this is what Isabelle was doing to entertain herself....

Here is Jack cruising down the street on his bike(with Jeff in tow). He is still working on balancing but he is doing pretty good.

We went to Jack's preschool yesterday for a little meet and greet. He was so excited to see his little buddy Chase there. After an hour of playing in the classroom and playing on the playground we decided to head to the grocery store. I put Jack and Isabelle in the car cart and headed in. While shopping (about 10 min) a lady stopped me and said "Your driver is asleep" I looked down and low and behold Jack was passed out at the wheel. I am hoping he was just exhausted from our Labor Day weekend activities at Great Grandma's house! Hopefully, they will not be carrying him out asleep from school tomorrow.

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell 2 weeks ago and I am now finally posting some pictures. I have two videotapes full of all of the action but I will save that for another time and place. So I had to steal some pic from my sister in law in order to post any pictures.

On our way down to Lake Powell we stopped at Stan's in Hanksville and in the kid's meals we received the best toy as you can see below (at least the kids thought so). Jack loved the tiger face he wore it until we reached the lake and then something better caught his eye!

Jack loved skiing! Anytime he was in the water or near the water he was loving life.

We went to Rainbow Bridge and here are all of the grandkids (minus Isabelle and Eli) with grandma and grandpa.

It was a great trip full of wake boarding, skiing, surfing, crack swimming, playing in the sand (building rainbow bridge) and laying in the sun for a week. Thanks Mom and Dad. We had a great time!

Sadly, the whole week we were together this is the only picture I have of all four of the kids.Jack loved getting in bed with Alex and Noah to watch a movie at night. Usually Noah would be a sleep in a few minutes but Alex and Jack would usually finish the movie and want to watch another one.

We loved going on the Ferris Wheel and Carousal at Balboa Island and eating at Ruby's!

We loved taking our nightly walks out to the pier to see some of the catches!
What would a trip to Newport be without going to the Crab Cooker?

Seattle Fun

Jeff had a conference in Seattle this week, so I decided to tag along for the weekend. The weekend went way too fast, as usual, and now I am back to reality. Jeff, on the other hand, is still living it up! Here are some pictures of us at Pikes Place Market.

Check out the size of the shrimp and lobster tails! I couldn't believe how much seafood was there. These pictures make my mouth water.

There was a whole octopus on ice, as well as some crazy looking fish with it's tongue about to pop out. Yummy!

We went on a boat ride around Elliot Bay.

Seattle skyline + some lady's arm. Yes, my photography skills are amazing!We went to a baseball game - Mariners vs Red Sox. I think there were more Red Sox fans there then Mariners!

Finally, we went to the Space Needle, and had brunch at the rotating restaurant.

It was a great trip to Seattle, and the weather was great.

Baby Animal Days

Earlier this month we went up to Logan for Baby Animal Days. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved every minute of it. We started out with the kids petting all of the animals.

We went for a little wagon ride... Then the fun really started. They were having a little rodeo...sadly we missed the mutton bustin (I would have loved to see Jack doing that) but don't worry we made it for the stick horse barrel racing. All of the cousins competed it was great! The top 3 times won a prize Libbie took 3rd overall...and her big prize was a tomahawk. I think she was pretty impressed. Yes we were proud!

Today is Isabelle's birthday...for some reason I scheduled her check up today. So for Isabelle's birthday we have spent 2 hours in the doctors office, she received 4 shots and 2 ear infections!!! Yeah what a birthday! I can't wait to see what next year brings...

Although, she is lucky enough to share a birthday with her Uncle Greg! Happy Birthday Greg!!

Trains, trains, trains!

We went to the annual train festival in Ogden with John and Lezli! It was the highlight of Jacks year! It was fun seeing him rushing around trying to see all of the trains. Our only problem was that we were not fast enough...we lost John and Jack for a while luckily John was able to keep up to him. We eventually caught up to them up at the big Lego train!

Jack was loving all of the trains as you can see...

I think Isabelle even enjoyed watching the trains...although she was probably wondering how she could get her hands on them.

Jack even got to go for a little ride (thanks to John's 0.50 cents!)

Isabelle got some exercise while Jack was busy investigating all of the trains!

Aquarium

Friday we went to the aquarium. Jack and LK were loving it until it came time to try and touch a fish/stingray. The video below shows Jack trying to touch one...

we bought a pass so maybe by the time our pass is up we will be able to touch one!

I just want to offer everyone the following advice:

If you are ever at a fancy restaurant and considering ordering the Filet topped with "sweetbreads," you should know that what you are eating is "the thymus glands and pancreas glands of lamb, beef, or pork."

According to wikipedia, "there are two different connected parts to the thymus gland, both set in the neck. The "heart" sweetbreads are more spherical in shape, and surrounded symmetrically by the "throat" sweetbreads, which are more cylindrical in shape. Although both are edible, the heart thymus gland is generally favored because of its delicate flavor and texture, and is thus more expensive[1]. Typically sweetbreads are soaked in salt water, then poached in milk after which an outer membrane is removed. Once dry and chilled, they're often breaded and fried until crisp. It is also popular to use them as a stuffing or in pâtés."

I bought Kori a FLIP camera for Valentine's Day, and let me just say...this is a great product (and relatively cheep too)! I'm already contemplating taking this one back for the HD version. We have a miniDV camera, and we use it, but the movies never seem to make it from our tapes to the computer. Here are our first productions with the FLIP:

Last week Paul, Summer, Noah & Alex came for a visit. Jack loved playing with them. They had so much fun riding the train, having a sleepover, and going to the children's museum!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for taking him.

Santa

This weekend we had Jeff's family christmas party and my family Christmas party. Once again I forgot my camera so I am waiting for Lezli to post her pictures so I can steal them! Jack won a game and we already played it today...he loves it!!!

This was the first time Jack saw Santa this year. He was loving him. He kept going over to him and touching him. I am not sure what he was thinking but at least he wasn't scared!

I missed Jack sitting on Santa's lap but he took his present...then he realized he forgot to tell him what he wanted so in the picture below he went back, put his present down on Santa's bag and proceeded to tell and show Santa what he wanted. I wish I had my video camera!

Our past week

So as many of you know Jeff tore his acl at Lake Powell this summer wakeboarding. Luckily it was toward the end of the week. Monday he went in for surgery!!! Everything went well and he hadn't done any more damage.

Tuesday he started vomiting blood! We headed back to the ER for the day. It wasn't anything too serious, so after about 6 hours they let us go home after scoping his stomach and finding out where and what was causing the bleeding.

We went back today (for a check up) and he can now start putting weight on this leg...HURRAY!!!

Thanks Lezli, Krystal and Heather for taking Jack and Isabelle and helping us out!
